There are many problems in India. We will evaluate the Role of Police, the problems and their solutions in a general way -

Police Department- The Indian Police are almost corrupt. Only few officials are honest in general. To register an FIR, one has to pay illegal money (bribe) normally 50 Rs. and varies according to charges and sections.

The traffic police pester the public to extort money from them on account of anything whether right or wrong.

The police usually encroaches the human rights. They behave like cruel, barbaric animals and cold blooded murderers. They are like rouges in government uniforms. They behave as they can do anything they like whether it is lawful or not. They think that they are the law makers and what they say or do is law.

We can’t forget the cruel act done by General Dayer in Jaliawala Bagh. In the same way we can’t forget the police cruelty in Nandigram or in Noida(probably) on Honda employees. Now the children too fear from police. Now the Comman man fears to go to Police Station to register its Genuine Complaint. The Police torture the wrong person and gives him 3rd degree illegally on behalf of enquiry without any proof, witness or investigation. They even override the Court’s order or delay its execution in order to extort money from party. They demand illegal money to furnish any report in Court from party. In VIP caravan they smash anybody which comes in their way and abuses them.

Solutions-

We have to create accountability and responsibility in them. As a general rule we have to make provisions of their termination. If the injured (offended) lodges a case (like not registering FIR, etc) and wins it the Policeman who is accused (of not registering) should be punished by deducting all the expenses and losses suffered from his salary.

N.B. - The government officials pester the public because they know that their job is safe and permanent and if the offended lodges any case they will not have to suffer in any way because the case will be between the offended vs. The Department. The offended and department will bear the expenses of the case and whoever will lose will suffer finally…they will not. On serious negligence or charge termination should be rewarded to set an example. In Enquiry rooms there should be close circuits cameras to record the enquiry and should be evaluated on daily basis.

Their should be a separate departments/Body for traffic, Crimes(including Torts). There should be a separate body to evaluate the police which should be directly connected with public i.e. Police on Police.

The Police should announce in advance the VIP caravan and make arrangements for hassle free road or should be ready for hassles. (Not smashing or abusing the public)
